Try Lucid Dreaming Instead of Nightmares

Lucid Dreaming is a technique by which one remains aware that one is dreaming while a dream is taking place. For this reason, it's sometimes known as \"Conscious Dreaming\". What this means for you is that when you are lucid dreaming, you know that you are having a dream, in the same way that when you step into the bus terminal you know you're in the bus terminal and not in the countryside or out on the street. And, because of your awareness, you are able to exert a great deal of control over what happens in your dream.

The power of having mastery over shaping the events of your own dreams is part of the very definition of the metaphysical. All of the normal dream-time rules, like \"timelessness\", \"teleportation\", and so on still apply: so, step into an existence where your usual limitations have suddenly vanished without a trace.

But this begs the question: can it really be so easy? Is this accessible to all? If it really is that easy why doesn't everybody do it?

In fact, lucid dreaming is not too difficult of an endeavor at all. You just need the drive and desire to learn this powerful method for bringing forth your innermost wishes. And, there are tried and true ways of mastering this power.

However, you must determine clearly your objective for trying to master the art of lucid dreaming. Do you simply want your own private getaway in the form of lucid dreams or do you have a particular reason for developing your skills? No matter your reason, you must have clarity of mind for its purpose.

A Dream Recall Register (dream journal) in which you write down (and/or sketch) as many details as you are able to recall about your dreams on a daily basis needs to used here, because this often a painfully slow process for many people. Nevertheless, slowly but surely, you’ll come to start remembering even the most understated, minor details of your dreams. Now, you need to give yourself some reality checks when you're dreaming, too: like, if you walk through a wall, tell yourself, \"How strange that I just walked through a wall!\" This will greatly help you train your mind more deeply in lucid dreaming.

It can be slow going to master this skill. The best way to proceed is with keeping a dream journal, sometimes called a Dream Recall Register. You write down your previous night's dreams as fully as possible. It's most effective to do this when you first wake up. In time, you will realize that you've trained your mind to be able to recall even the smallest details of your dreams. When you reach this stage, you are ready to make the journey into lucid dreaming.

The time required for preparing the subconscious mind to experience lucid dreaming can be reduced greatly with hypnosis for some individuals. Generally one or two hypnosis sessions allows you to continually recall all your dreams. Your mind is conditioned for lucid dreaming once this happens.

Now when you start trying to practice lucid dreaming, you could find that you suddenly awaken from a dream--and then you'll find yourself able to recall that dream immediately. be All you need do at this point is relax and let yourself drift back to sleep, and you'll be able to enter that same dream and pick up right where you left off. Upon waking, you will now know that you have the great power of lucid dreaming coming fully under your control.

You can also induce lucid dreaming by going back to sleep just a couple of hours after you get up in the morning. This type of dreaming can cause you to wonder if you were really dreaming or if you have somehow manifested your thought-forms into reality. Dreaming at this time is the closest you can get to actual lucid dreaming.

Insomnia can be cured with lucid dreaming, too! If you can't get to sleep when you put your head down on that pillow, all you need to is suggest to your mind that to sleep is to lucid dream, and you'll find your mind will take care of everything and make it so you can sleep soundly.

You can actually fight off sleeping disorders such as insomnia by lucid dreaming. If you struggle for sleep during normal sleeping hours you can tell your mind that sleeping equals lucid dreaming. You mind will take care of your thoughts that might prevent you from going to sleep.

And now, modern advances in sonic technologies have enabled us to learn far faster and more easily how to experience the power of lucid dreaming.

Slightly different frequencies get played into each ear by way of stereophonic technology. Thus, the listener's brain waves are harmonized to the right frequency for lucid dreaming to be induced.

A slightly different sound frequency is played in each ear, which soon brings you to a state of complete relaxation. This resonates your brainwaves to the same frequency which allows lucid dreaming to occur.

In the absence of this technology, meditation techniques had to be used by most people to master lucid dreaming. Due to the austere nature of and very long time period required for mastery of the prolonged meditation which could lead to lucid dreaming, the vast majority of people just gave up in frustration.
