Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD) This is a technique based on entering your dreams with the intention of realizing you are dreaming or looking for a dream sign lucid dreamers. Dr. Stephen LaBerge puts 60% as the percentage of success that this technique might attain. Since you wake up while you are in the process of your REM sleep phase, your mind does not understand it fully. It essentially is like you are telling your mind to go back to sleep in order to lucid dream. You want to have a lucid dream. That much you are sure of; however, what you are not at all sure of is how to go about having one. So, what is so good about being a lucid dreamer? What would you gain from it? In order to understand the advantages of being aware when you are dreaming, we need to examine what regular sleep actually is. When you sleep normally, you just see a blank or dark screen or a dream from the time you close your eyes to the time you get up, which is not particularly interesting.
