Training
For a Lucid Dream
Very simply put, a dream in which you are conscious that you are having a
Dream is known as a Lucid Dream. The expression 'lucid' in this context
means aware or conscious. But the extent of your 'lucidity' can vary
according to how ‘stable’ the dream experience itself is, how much you
manage to remember about the dream when you wake up, and also how much
influence you have in taking control of the dream itself.
It is this last factor which is the most remarkable and amazing thing
about experiencing a Lucid Dream. Being able to identify the fact that you
are having a dream is astounding. You can decide which direction you want
the dream to go in and there really are no limits to what experiences you
can have!
Just imagine that for an instant. It looks feels and sounds exactly the
same as ‘normal’ reality, except that you know that it isn’t. You know
that you are perfectly safe; you cannot die or get injured when lucid
Dream. There are no normal rules and regulations about what you get up to!
It is truly your own ‘Individual Virtual Reality', with a depth of realism
far beyond the most sophisticated computer imitation.
Lucid Dream is an incredible skill that more and more people are
mastering. Having a Lucid Dream is something almost everyone experiences
very occasionally, but just imagine how exhilarating it would be if you
could Lucid Dream whenever you want to!
A lucid Dream gives you the opportunity to do anything you've ever wanted
to do; to experience anything you've ever wanted to experience. You can
meet your favorite celebrities of the present and the past, visit other
planets, have wild erotic experiences; anything which is within the power
of your imagination is possible in Lucid Dream.
It can be fairly complicated to achieve controlled Lucid Dreams on a
regular basis. Up until recently many people spent months in training and
using special self-conditioning procedures before even experiencing one
single Lucid Dream. Even then, most people never even succeed once, let
alone on a regular basis.
So are there any simple ways of experiencing a Lucid Dream?
Many people who have experienced a Lucid Dream swear by eating certain
foods just prior to the dream. If you would like to try this they usually
recommend orange juice, milk, cheese, and mustard. These seem to produce
the best results.
Others will tell you to try pickles, ice cream, fish and popcorn. While
they swear by the ability of these foods to produce the right conditions
for Lucid Dream to occur, these foods also have a high salt and fat
content, as well as fatty acids; making them not so likely to produce
restful sleep.
Can Technology Assist You?
New advances in technology have made it easier for people to experience
Lucid Dream. Some of these devices use LEDs – there are sleep masks and
eyeshades which can detect REM sleep and set off a LED, reminding the
sleeper that they are Dream. This then lets them take control over their
dream.
One of these new technologies which is very promising is binaural beats,
which uses advanced audio technologies to play different frequencies into
each ear. This helps people to have Lucid Dreams.
Binaural frequencies can synchronize the hemispheres of the brain; as you
listen, your mind reaches the state of REM sleep; which is necessary fro
Lucid Dream to occur.
If you have always wanted to try Lucid Dream for yourself, binaural sound
presents the quickest and easiest way to begin.
So You Want To Be Involved In a Lucid
Dream...
a Lucid Dream or Conscious Dreaming is the art of being aware that one is
actually dreaming. In simple words, while in dream, you are aware that all
the events are not happening in fact, or 'It’s Just A Dream!' kind of
situation. There is certain amount of control you can exercise while a
Lucid Dream, which is not the case in normal dreams.
The power of having complete control over the direction of your dreams is
something straight out of metaphysical existence. Suddenly, all the
limitations you ever felt in life just cease to exist.
But is it as simple as it looks like? Can everyone experience a Lucid
Dream and bring to life what otherwise seems difficult or impossible in
this reality?
As it happens, a Lucid Dream is not all that difficult. If you really want
to use this technique to tap into the power of your mind, you can do so.
There are proven ways to get you to your goal.
Foremost, you must be absolutely clear about your objective in trying to
master the art of a Lucid Dream. Do you just want to have your own private
playground in the form of lucid dreams, or there is some specific reason
for developing this skill? Whatever may be the reason, it should be
crystal clear in your mind.
Once you have this, you can begin actually learning a Lucid Dream. It
begins with Dream Recall, or remembering a dream you had the night before.
Only when you're able to do this can you progress into learning actual a
Lucid Dream.
The process is slow, but it can be achieved by maintaining a Dream Recall
Register in which you enter as many details as you can remember about your
dreams daily. Slowly but surely, you’ll realize that you can remember even
the most vivid details of your dreams. Periodic reality checks during the
course of dreaming will train your mind to be aware in dreams.
The time required for preparing the subconscious mind to experience a
Lucid Dream can be reduced greatly with hypnosis for some individuals.
Generally one or two hypnosis sessions allows you to continually recall
all your dreams. Your mind is conditioned for a Lucid Dream once this
happens.
While in a lucid dream, it may happen that suddenly, you are wide-awake.
However, with the power that you have attained so far, you’ll be easily
able to recollect all the important details of the dream. Now, just try to
relax and sleep again, while continuing the dream with the desired
directions. When you wake up, you’ll realize the real power of conscious
dreaming you just experienced the night before.
You can also induce a Lucid Dream by going back to sleep just a couple of
hours after you get up in the morning. This type of dreaming can cause you
to wonder if you were really dreaming or if you have somehow manifested
your thought-forms into reality. Dreaming at this time is the closest you
can get to actual a Lucid Dream.
This is easy to do by setting your alarm to chime just a couple of hours
before you would normally wake up. Once the alarm goes off, simply wake up
and turn it off and then go right back to sleep. You can enjoy your lucid
dreams. In order for you to pinpoint the best time for a Lucid Dream it is
most helpful to keep a record of your personal sleeping patterns.
a Lucid Dream can actually help you fight sleeping disorders, like
insomnia. Whenever you are struggling to sleep at the normal sleeping
hours, you just need to tell your mind that sleeping equals a Lucid Dream,
and your mind will take care of all the thoughts that are preventing you
from falling asleep.
It once was the case that it could take years to learn a Lucid Dream; the
only way to prepare the mind was meditation, which took a long time to
master. A lot of people lack the discipline and would simply give up. New
technologies, especially audio technology have made it possible for anyone
to experience a Lucid Dream.
Listening to binaural audios is one of the most reliable and fastest ways
to have lucid dreams for many individuals.
Binaural beats audio is the playing of frequencies which are slightly
different from each other, one in each ear. This causes a feeling of deep
relaxation and brings brain waves into the proper state for a
Lucid Dream.
Before binaural audio technology, meditation was the method of choice for
those wanting to learn a Lucid Dream, and this was a process which could
sometimes take years to master. Many simply gave up, not having the
determination to pursue the practice.
When binaural sound waves and hypnosis are used for preparing the
subconscious mind it is very possible for you to experience a Lucid Dream
sooner.
