The lucid Dream and Dreams
A Lucid Dream is defined as a dream where you know you are dreaming and you can manipulate your dream. \"Lucid\" in this context simply means aware or conscious of. The extent of the lucidity does vary from dreaming session to dreaming session and from person to person. This awareness is dependent on the dream, the stability of the dream, the experiences in the dream, and even how much the dreamer remembers when they wake up. Most of this is fairly largely influenced by your personal awareness during sleep and how much control you take during the dream.
The most striking aspect of a Lucid Dream is this very control. Knowing that the things going on around you are only a part of your dream is something which is quite unlike anything else. You are at the wheel of this ship and have full control over what happens. Other than your imagination, there are no boundaries to what you can do in your Lucid Dream experiences.
Think about this for just a moment. Lucid Dreaming seems real – it feels, looks, tastes and smells like reality; but with the difference that you know it's all a dream and that no matter what you decide to do, you'll be safe. This is truly a virtual reality experience which is far beyond the capabilities of any computer in existence today.
Most people rarely, if ever, experience Lucid dreaming without first learning of the skill. However, it is an incredible skill that, with the right training and practice, even more people in today's society are learning to master. You too could have the exhilarating Lucid dream anytime you wanted to with the right skill set.
If you truly want to open up a new path into some pretty amazing experiences then you probably want to learn just what you can do with these dreams. Imagine, if you will, being able to create your own universe, your own movie saga, create novels and book, or even experiment and design things all in the state of peaceful relaxation and slumber. You could even time travel and speak to people you have never met or have not seen in many years. Your dram has no limits!
Being able to Lucid Dream whenever you want is an ability which people once had to spend a very long time to learn. People would spend months and months in training before they had their very first Lucid Dream. Some people found that no matter how hard they tried, they were never able to have a Lucid Dream.
So are there any easy ways to have a Lucid Dream?
Some say that eating certain foods shortly before going to bed promote Lucid Dreaming. Some of these foods are cheese, orange juice, milk and mustard.
Other people have found success with foods such as: Pickles, Ice cream, Popcorn, and Fish. Although, the success rate for these foods has not been as successful as the foods described above. The claim is that these high acid and fatty foods help prepare the brain for the lucidity session. There are two main problems with eating these foods. The first is that these foods do not induce a restful night's sleep, and eating before bed can cause weight gain.
Is There Technology That can be of Assistance?
There are new technologies which can assist you in having Lucid Dreams. There are sleep masks and eyeshades which turn on LEDs when REM sleep is detected; the idea is that the red light of the LED will let dreamers know that they are dreaming; this is the first step to taking control of the dream.
One of these new technologies which is very promising is binaural beats, which uses advanced audio technologies to play different frequencies into each ear. This helps people to have Lucid Dreams.
Binaural beats serve to induce a synchronizing in both hemispheres of the brain. As if instantly these two special frequencies induce the brain to produce a state of REM sleep. This is where your Lucid Dream can begin.
If you've always wanted to try out Lucid Dreaming, binaural sound is certainly the quickest and easiest way to begin.
