Are Lucid Dreams Real?
For those unfamiliar with the term, I have good news; Lucid Dreaming is actually a pretty simple concept. A Lucid Dream is a dram in which you are aware that you are dreaming. The degree to which your Lucid Dream is lucid is dependent on how much of the dream you can remember once you awaken, how stable the dream experience is and how much control you have over the dream.
The most striking aspect of a Lucid Dream is this very control. Knowing that the things going on around you are only a part of your dream is something which is quite unlike anything else. You are at the wheel of this ship and have full control over what happens. Other than your imagination, there are no boundaries to what you can do in your Lucid Dream experiences.
Just think about this for a second. The events in a Lucid Dream seem real; but with the difference that you know that it is all a dream and that you are safe; there is no risk of injury in a Lucid Dream and no limits to your abilities. It is a kind of \"virtual reality\" experience which no computer can come close to in terms of realism.
Most people rarely, if ever, experience Lucid dreaming without first learning of the skill. However, it is an incredible skill that, with the right training and practice, even more people in today's society are learning to master. You too could have the exhilarating Lucid dream anytime you wanted to with the right skill set.
Lucid Dreaming lets you do anything you've ever wanted. You can meet celebrities, have unrestrained erotic experiences, visit other worlds; if you can imagine it, it can happen in your Lucid Dream.
As neat as lucid dreaming sounds, it's a lot more difficult to learn how to do. The process itself is pretty complicated to achieve. In the past most people would spend months, maybe years, attempting to achieve just one lucid dream. In the process they would put themselves through training and instructions and even self conditioning procedures. Then they may have one or even two lucid dreams. Even then they may manage only a few brief minutes or seconds of lucidity. Many others never even succeed just once.
So are there any easier ways to have a Lucid Dream?
There are those who claim that the odds of having a Lucid Dream will be increased by having certain foods close to bedtime. Some of these foods are orange juice, milk, cheese and mustard.
Others will tell you to try pickles, ice cream, fish and popcorn. While they swear by the ability of these foods to produce the right conditions for Lucid Dreaming to occur, these foods also have a high salt and fat content, as well as fatty acids; making them not so likely to produce restful sleep.
Can Technology Help?
New developments in various technologies can help you to have Lucid Dreams. There are some new devices including LED equipped eyeshades and sleep masks. These devices detect when the sleeper enters REM sleep and activates a LED to remind the sleeper that they are dreaming. Once the sleeper is aware of this, they can move to take the reins of their dream.
One of the most effective of these new technologies is one which uses audio frequencies called binaural beats. Each of the listener's ears have different frequencies played into them, which helps you to have Lucid Dreams.
Binaural frequencies help to synchronize the hemispheres of the brain and make your brain more likely to reach REM sleep, which is needed in order for Lucid Dreaming to happen.
If you have ever wanted to experiences a fantastic Lucid Dream session and not have to work hard to learn how to do so, then this is definitely your most reliable method to getting started!
