Keep it beside your bed and record everything you can recall about your dreams. Do this every morning when you wake up. Do not wait until later in the day as you may forget. The longer you are awake the more you forget about your dreams.
You will remember more about your dreams each time you write the information in the diary and you’ll also be able to use your dream to refresh your memory. You can also use this method. Wake up several hours earlier than you would normally and then try slipping back sleep. This mode of sleep and dreaming makes it much easier to stay aware of what you are dreaming. You may not even be sure if you are dreaming or just lying awake in your bed thinking. By doing this on a regularly basis, lucid dreaming is much more likely.
