How to induce Conscious Dreaming-A dreamers tale!
Conscious dreaming or lucid dreaming, as it is also called, is the state of being asleep and aware of your dreams while you are asleep. You are completely aware of what you are dreaming in this dream state and can consciously control your dreams.
Complete power to control your dreams may seem like a fantasy or sci-fi novel, but anyone can achieve this dream state and it is fairly easy to do. You can actually express your inner feelings, along with your desires while in this state of dreaming. There are proven methods that will allow you to achieve a state of lucid dreaming.
To begin you need to think about what you want to gain. Do you want to have fun and live out your fantasies, or do you want to use lucid dreaming to help solve problems in your life. Maybe you are just curious about what the experience is like. It does not matter what your goal is as long as you keep it in mind and stay confident that you will achieve it.
Once you know why you want to start conscious dreaming, you will then need to become more practiced in the techniques which can produce lucid dreams. Dream recall is the way that most people choose to begin – this is simply training yourself to remember your dreams.
When you start to consciously dream, you have to recall the details of all the dreams you have, each night. One of the most common ways to do this is to keep a diary by your bedside table with a pen or pencil. Each morning, first thing, is to enter details of your dreams, all of the details that you can remember. The longer you wait to do this, the less you will remember. So this is of the up most importance, so the details are as accurate as they can be.
You will remember more about your dreams each time you write the information in the diary and you’ll also be able to use your dream to refresh your memory. Now your mind is primed to remember details of your dreams and being aware of your dreams has become easy. You may suddenly become awake and aware that what you dreamt is not real.
Either on its own or along with a dream diary, hypnosis is a powerful technique for training your mind to recall dreams. In fact, many find themselves able to remember every detail of their dreams with only a few sessions of hypnosis! Once you have gained this ability, you will be able to begin conscious dreaming.
You may wake up suddenly when you are having a conscious dream in the beginning. This is not unusual. Go over the events in your dream as you drift back to sleep. If you focus on them hard enough, you will go back into the same dream and perhaps control the events and the outcome of them.
This method of inducing lucid or conscious dreaming is to wake earlier than usual, now try to go back sleep. In this state dreams are easier to be aware of. You might be unsure whether you are awake or asleep, or simply thinking lying in bed. Doing this regularly and lucid dreaming is much more likely.
Pay close attention to your patterns of sleep. These patterns will dictate the time these types of dreams are likely to occur. Also remember - do not sleep less hours than you normally do. You are likely to have fewer lucid dreams if you do.
However, it happens that lucid dreaming can be helpful to those afflicted with some sleep disorders including insomnia – you’ll learn to banish the worrisome thoughts that can keep you from getting to sleep.
Conscious dreaming is easy to learn and anyone can do it, in fact some do it without learning or practice. Find a method you like to use and learn to lucid dream. Do not miss what others are doing every night. Explore your dreams.
Almost everyone can achieve conscious dreaming. Take a little time to explore these methods and try one or two of them. Release your power of lucid dreaming. You won’t believe what you can accomplish.
