A common problem people have when they get started in conscious dreaming is suddenly awakening from their conscious dreams; to return to your dream, go back to sleep while concentrating on the events of the dream in as much detail as possible.
This method of inducing lucid or conscious dreaming is to wake earlier than usual, now try to go back sleep. In this state dreams are easier to be aware of. You might be unsure whether you are awake or asleep, or simply thinking lying in bed. Doing this regularly and lucid dreaming is much more likely.
Pay close attention to your patterns of sleep. These patterns will dictate the time these types of dreams are likely to occur. Also remember - do not sleep less hours than you normally do. You are likely to have fewer lucid dreams if you do.
However, good news. It has been found that lucid dreams have a positive effect on insomnia. By lucid dreaming, the effect is that it can teach your mind to close or shut down the distressful and bad thoughts which keep you awake.
Conscious dreaming can be learned much easier than you think – it doesn’t take years of practice to do.
