The idea of being able to do anything you want in your dreams is amazing to think about, but anyone can learn to do it. It is not hard at all to do and offers an outlet for living out your fantasies and releasing your hidden desires. You can learn step-by-step proven ways to achieve the state of lucid dreaming.

The first thing you should do is to figure out what your goals are in learning conscious dreaming. Do you hope to have more enjoyment from your dreams, or is conscious dreaming a vehicle for you to achieve some of your other life goals?

When you decide “why” you want to do this you will begin and learn techniques to help in your quest to start lucid dreaming. Techniques that will help you achieve the necessary frame of mind. Usually people who begin this kind of activity will start with recalling dreams they have had. It’s just a matter of remembering dreams you’ve already dreamt.

When you start to consciously dream, you have to recall the details of all the dreams you have, each night. One of the most common ways to do this is to keep a diary by your bedside table with a pen or pencil. Each morning, first thing, is to enter details of your dreams, all of the details that you can remember. The longer you wait to do this, the less you will remember. So this is of the up most importance, so the details are as accurate as they can be.

You will remember more about your dreams each time you write the information in the diary and you’ll also be able to use your dream to refresh your memory. Now your mind is primed to remember details of your dreams and being aware of your dreams has become easy. You may suddenly become awake and aware that what you dreamt is not real.

Together with a dream diary or by itself, hypnosis can be a valuable tool in dream recall and conscious dreaming. In just a few sessions of hypnosis, most people find that they can remember each and every little detail of their dreams. After this can be done, conscious dreaming will start to happen more readily.

A common problem people have when they get started in conscious dreaming is suddenly awakening from their conscious dreams; to return to your dream, go back to sleep while concentrating on the events of the dream in as much detail as possible.

Something else which works for a lot of people is to set your alarm two to three hours before you would usually get up. Once you awaken, go right back to sleep (don’t forget to reset your alarm, though!). These last few hours of sleep are when conscious dreaming is most likely to happen. Many find that they are so conscious of these dreams that it can be difficult to tell if you are dreaming, or just lying awake thinking.

Pay close attention to your patterns of sleep. These patterns will dictate the time these types of dreams are likely to occur. Also remember - do not sleep less hours than you normally do. You are likely to have fewer lucid dreams if you do.

However, good news. It has been found that lucid dreams have a positive effect on insomnia. By lucid dreaming, the effect is that it can teach your mind to close or shut down the distressful and bad thoughts which keep you awake.

Conscious dreaming can be learned much easier than you think – it doesn’t take years of practice to do.

It is so easy to lucid dream that almost anyone can achieve it. Put a little time into it and choose one of these methods to learn the power of lucid dreaming. Try all three methods and see which one works best for you. Discover what lies within your dreams.
